Gag me

Seriously, ugh. A friend of mine has been losing her mucus plug and I am so excited/anxious for her that I decided to google how long you can go after losing your plug before delivering (answer up to 2 weeks) and am so thoroughly grossed out right now. After reading all the descriptions of this giant piece of bloody snot I just want to lose my lunch. Seriously I know some people think of all this is so beautiful and amazing, but I just find it all really disgusting. I am now having visions of walking into the bathroom one day and finding a huge bloody slug looking thing in my undies. Can you imagine that happening at work, sitting in a meeting and then all of a sudden you feel that working it's way out. No thank you. Please let me be one of the lucky ones who never even sees their bloody show (seriously what the hell does that term mean, I am too scared to further google) and just go into labor and lose it at that time. Blech.

Hahahaa!!!! Believe me, by 9 months you are going to be so happy to see bloody mucous you're going to dance around in celebration! Plus, it doesn't happen to everyone and sometimes it happens over several days so it's just a glob here and a glob there.

It's really not all that much grosser than egg white cervical mucous (it's globbier and different colored, but still same concept). Since it took you all of two weeks to get pg you aren't tuned to the finer points of cervical mucous!! I think the whole trying to conceive thing is supposed to get us more used to lovely things like this. Kind of like hazing :)

But seriously, mark my words: it will be a happy happy day when there is abundant bloody mucous falling out of you! Hahahahaha. I can't wait so I can say, "told you so!"

It really isn't that bad. Mine happened while I was using the bathroom if that makes you feel any better. I was like 37 weeks and my doctor had stripped my membranes the day before. There is something now to google.

ack, you're grossing me out too, even though I know it's no big deal! That photo selection is TOO much.

But yeah, when/if it does "show," that will be the last thing you're worried about. I think it's fair to say that anyone who has had a period won't be too phased by mucous (just don't expect your husband to be too interested in talking about it).

Ooh, I love Leopard Slugs! Mucus plugs on the other hand... Actually I only lost a tiny bit of mine and it wasn't all that gross. It was a bit like snot. Of course if I had experienced the full awesome power of the bloody show..I might be as grossed out as you no doubt are after reading all that stuff. *grin*

Salty is right... by the time you're 9 months you go to the bathroom hourly looking for it!! Mine wasn't that bad- not bloody at all- just like a big blob of thick snot- nice I know- but you'll be thrilled to see it!

It is gross but what happens after you give birth is grosser!
