27 weeks and change

So I am part way through week 27. Tomorrow I go for my glucose test. The past few weeks have really seen a lot of changes in my body. For one, I am now full blown peeing on myself if I am not careful. Whereas before it would just be the occasional dribble after going, I find that now I once I think I might have to go, I better go b/c in a few mins I'll be wetting my pants. Good times. The other thing is I am having this really wierd sensation under one boob, above my belly, it feels like that area is falling asleep. It's really annoying and never happens on the other side. I'm sure it has something to do with my little girl's positioning or something, but please make it stop. Sleeping is getting harder, my biggest problem is now that I sleep on my side and I'm not resting any weight onto a sprawled out leg or belly, my shoulder is taking the brunt of it and they are really bothering me. I've always had issues with my shoulder one one side, the rotator cuff b/c I sleep with my arm shoved up under my pillow, but can't seem to change the habit. Oh well.

In good news though the baby moves a lot and I love watching my belly dance around. I have tried to start talking to her when she moves, but then just kind of feel like a wierdo!

Try using pillows in between your legs and under your belly to give some cushion. Also, I used to make Tim sleep right up against my back for support...when he got tired of doing that, I had to move to the couch.

Funny story (not at the time)....we were in home depot shopping for last minute things and I was about 34 weeks pregnant. Tim went to another isle and all of a sudden....GUSH! Oh crap...and at the same time a very young male worker walked into the isle I was on and started freaking out. "it's ok ma'am, don't worry." Next thing I know, 3 other employees and about 5 shoppers are rushing onto the isle and over the intercom I hear "will the husband shopping with his pregnant wife please return to the paint isle." holy S#@*. Tim took his time checking out while they made me sit in the wheel chair.

Now let me explain that I had just gone to the bathroom before we left the house and it was a 5 minute drive to Home Depot. Baby had kick my bladder so hard that a good 10-12 oz. of urine came out. Needless to say, we did not return to that home depot until after the baby was born. Even one of the ladies said "don't worry hun, your water broke, but it's ok." Uh I think I would know if it was my water breaking.

My bladder has never been the same since pregnancy number one.

The same thing happened to me with the sensation of your skin falling asleep under your boob. It drove me nuts so I started using Curell Motherhood lotion on it when it started up and that usually took care of the problem. I bet any lotion would do though.

And I second doing Kegels-- I didn't and severely regretted it everytime I stood up in the hospital. I rarely made it to the bathroom without having an accident:( Thank goodness for the monster pads!

My shoulder is killing me as well on the left. I love watching my belly move too! Enjoy, I feel like it doesn't move as much as the baby gets bigger!

Ok, you have all scared me into doing my Kegels. I have been really bad about that.

I also have the shoulder problem. I wake up nearly every 30 minutes to flip from one side to the other since they go numb from the pressure. Sometimes I accidently roll onto my back and then I wake up all queasy and hot. Not fun.
