Hips of pain

Starting last week I noticed that my lower back was really bothering me. I said something to my friend who just had a baby and she said that it happened to her in early pregnancy too and her doc said it had to do with your pelvis expanding and then in my Week by Week book it said some people can get sciatic nerve pain early on. Well, now it is my back and my hips and it freaking hurts. My hips have been hurting so badly since I ran this weekend. I guess the 11 miles on Sat and the 6 miles on Sunday were a lot of pounding. We were walking the dogs last night and I stopped b/c I got this sudden jolt of pain like my hip has popped out of place or something. Ugh. Did this happen to any of you?

Yes! My back killed from like 9th week until the 12th week. And my hips hurt but not painful just more like a stretching feeling. I remember on weekend I couldnt drive anywhere becauce of that feeling. It will go away. Just do like you did and stop and rest when you feel it.

I had nerve pain starting the 10th week! By the middle of this summer I was going to the chiropractor twice a week just to function! Sounds like back labor is in my future!
Stripping your membranes is not pleasant but is suppose to speed up the process. I will let you google and read all the yuck that goes with it! Thanks for checking in with us.

I had a little bit of pelvis pain, but not quite that early. More like 12-15 weeks. It came when I was at the gym lifting with my legs... doing lunges and one legged squats. A PT friend of mine told me that one legged activities may not be good for us right now b/c of the instability in our hips. Said sometimes going up stairs can be an issue as well (although it has not been for me). Once I stopped the one-leg stuff I've been fine.

I got low back pain early on when I did long runs. I felt it the next day.. it was like muscle soreness and went away but I had never had it before I was pregnant. Hope you feel better!
